A new Diet Resource

As we all know, most Americans are overweight. There are basically two reasons for this. One, we eat the wrong kinds of foods. Two, we don't exercise enough.

Well, the exercise we will have to leave to you, and please do it as with any diet plan it is a very important part.

However, there is a site that can help with the food choices. MyFitnessPal offers a 100% free calorie counter.

"What is a calorie counter", you may ask.

A calorie counter is exactly what it sounds like, it counts the number of calories you take in during the day. At MyFitnessPal, you simply sign up for a free account, and enter what you eat. It will take that information, and tell you how many calories you have consumed. During regular use, you will start to see just how bad that cheesburger, or slice of pizza is for you, and you may start searching out healthier alternatives.

As with anything, calorie counting will require that you change habits. You must also be sure that you are entering everying you eat into the system. Lying will not do you any good. If you want to change how you look, then you must change how you live. It is your current lifestyle that got you into this shape, so it will take a new lifestyle to get you out of it.

Also, if you need some encouragement, there are also messageboards at MyFitnessPal with others that are going through this with you. You do not have to feel alone, and can get all the support you need to make it through the relearning a good lifestyle.
